AMSN 5 Conference Registration
The programme for AMSN 5: Cultures of Modernity will begin late afternoon Sunday 11 December, with a free guided tour of the modernist architecture of Auckland, ending with the option of dinner and drinks.
Registration will run Monday morning to midday, 12 December, with the option for PG/ECR attendees to sign up for a session of focused discussion with Kirby Brown (Cherokee Nation), taking place on Monday morning.
Panels and talks will run from Monday afternoon to Wednesday late afternoon, with the conference concluding with a round table highlighting Indigenous and feminist responses to the conference’s themes.
Major events include talks by Kirby Brown (Cherokee Nation), Director of Native American Studies at the University of Oregon; by Peter Brunt, Associate Professor of Art History at Te Herenga Waka/Victoria University of Wellington; and by Matariki Williams (Ngāi Tūhoe, Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāti Hauiti, Taranaki), Pou Matua Mātauranga Māori/Senior Historian, Mātauranga Māori, Manatū Taonga/Ministry for Culture & Heritage.
Delegates can also attend an evening at the Auckland Art Gallery and a special viewing of Māori and Pacific holdings in the Auckland Museum.
