About

The Australasian Modernist Studies Network (AMSN) supports and promotes modernist studies in Australasia and the wider region, and provides a forum for productive exchange between Australasian scholars and the international community.

In line with the rapidly expanding interdisciplinary and international domain of scholarship that comprises the new modernist studies, the AMSN seeks to engage academics, postgraduate students and those outside the academy who work in any of the field’s various disciplines and denominations: for example, concepts and cultures of modernity; the avant-garde; transnational modernisms; Anglophone and other modernisms; archival, digital and multimedia modernisms; and contemporary legacies.

We invite you to get involved in the network by signing up to become a member, participating in our biennial conference and other sponsored events, and notifying us of modernist studies activities and events in which you are involved. Links to these options are located at the top of this webpage. The AMSN maintains close collegial ties with key international associations and networks in the field, including the Modernist Studies Association and the British Association for Modernist Studies, and is also proud to be affiliated with the journal Affirmations: of the modern, published through the University of New South Wales.
